What our guests think:
“My son and new daughter-in-law held their reception at your premises last Friday, 11th January.
I am writing to say a very big thank you for making their wedding day so memorable.
The meal was excellent, cooked to perfection and plenty of it. Compliments to the chef and waiters.
The bar staff were friendly, helpful and very, very tolerant with the youngsters running around even providing them with balloons to keep them occupied (or so they hoped). Even at the very end of the evening when packing up the cake the young lady went out of her way to be as helpful as she could. We even had help taking everything to the car. These are the things that matter at the end of a long day.
I cannot praise the service we received enough and ‘thank you’ doesn’t seem adequate for making a once in a life time occasion so complete.”
“Lunch today was a meander along the A4 road west of Maidenhead to the Novello Pub and Eating House at Littlewick Green.
This is a recently refurbished pub named after the famous composer, Ivor Novello, who lived in Littlewick Green. He was famous in the 20s and 30s ( well before my time ) and wrote the song ' And her mother came too '. The Ivor Novello film and television awards are named after him. The green in Littlewick Green was a location for some of the Midsomer Murders episodes.
The interior of the Novello is very smart as it is very new. Locally brewed cask beers, such as Rebellion, brewed in Marlow, are served. I like that touch instead of having only those mass produced beers, such as Carlsberg, Stella Artois, etc, full of chemicals that leave you with a headache afterwards.
There is an extensive lunch menu, mainly traditional pub comfort food, like bangers and mash, steak and kidney pie, sirloin steak, fish and chips. There is also a good wine list.
This place has free newspapers and Wi-Fi as well so you can spend the afternoon on your laptop drinking Rebellion bitter. I don't eat meat out so I had the fish and chips with mushy peas. The mushy peas were really mashed peas but very good. The chips were brilliant, tasting exactly of potato, not cooking oil. Three battered fillets of cod ( I think ) came too, served in layers. Far too much to eat. I left some. The main dish plus a soft drink came to £ 11.50. Good value for money
This place is very good. Recommended by me. Just go for the chips if nothing else. “
